Passionate About Reducing Waste
I have always been conscientious of the environment, but having my two children made me realise that this was something I needed to do something about - NOW.
We began by trying to reduce how much waste we produced as a family, particularly plastic. We made lots of big and small changes at home, but the real problem has been buying food packaging free. There was nowhere local that we could do this, so Waste Not was born - to help us all reduce how much waste we produce.
In addition to the shop, I am also the North East Regional Coordinator for Refill. Refill is a national campaign to get people to drink more tap water in a bid to reduce the need for single-use plastic bottles. It is a simple concept, where businesses promise to supply anyone with clean hygenic tap water - whether they are a customer or not. All Refill Stations are added to a simple to use app, so it is easy to find your nearest one.

"As a Mum of two small boys (and one big dog) I’m all too aware of how much waste we produce, from the weekly shop to birthday parties filled with disposables and plastic. Going totally plastic-free simply isn’t an option for us, so I’m always looking for ways to reduce and reuse – it all adds up!
Waste Not Parties was inspired by Charlotte’s decision to establish Waste Not, and her mission to help people reduce their waste by making easy changes and swaps. It’s such a simple idea, and I’m really excited by the positive and enthusiastic response we’ve had so far.
We’re always looking for ways to expand and improve what we offer, so please drop us a line!"
